Sleep? Nah a blog.

Lieing in bed unable to sleep, thinking about things I normally think about when I can't sleep I decided to finally go ahead and throw up a blog. I should of done this four years ago when I started reading other's blogs. I'll just have to catch up for lost time.

  • Nice to see you started a blog. 'bout time someone with half a brain starts commenting on some of the crap going on out there these days. Cheers. ~Warden

  • Nice to see someone commenting! Hows the new job going buddy? While I try to use atleast half my brain, I really think its more knowing where to find the information (pretty good at) then storing the information and recalling it later (which i'm not so good at but I wish I was). Also as pointed out to me by my working significant other, if you don't have free time its increasingly harder to do go out and find information while critically thinking about at the same time. So if you work a lot or don't even have access to a computer and internet connection, I guess the "Information Age" will pass you by. Similar to being illiterate or not having access to books during the Renassiance or Middle Ages.

  • Hey :-D

I'm too lazy to create an account right now, so I'm gonna keep posting anonymously :op

New Job's going great. It keeps me very busy. 4:45 mornings every day until I graduate the academy. That sucks, but it's worth it.

I totally agree with you about the being able to find and critically analyze data and the lack of time to do so. That's the problem with our politics, media, and even society...

We all bitch about not being satisfied with the state of things, but rather than figure out what is wrong and try and find solutions, we depend on our political leaders to do so for us, and we expect the media to report to keep us updated of the process as well as new problems that arise. In theory, it sounds great, but unfortunately... Politics are just that, and politicians tend to stick to their agendas rather than what's in the best interest of the nation (albeit, they often have a twisted view of what's best, anyway).

Then, the media, rather than critically analyze and breakdown these serious issues and report on them, they find the most sensational story and then they drill it into the ground until we are so sick of it, that no one even cares anymore. Example: Iraq. It is a very serious issue that they have failed to effectively report on, yet it dominates news coverage. Meanwhile, American Soldiers, contractors, and others are dying abroad while at home, we continue to grow complacent.

Equally annoying: Prez bush spews out all sorts of bullshit about how unsafe we are, but rather than question the issues and determine their validity, most Americans accept it as fact, and the media is slower than hell to spell out the truth. *sigh* Can ya tell I'm frustrated?

Anyway, now that I've attempted to 'take over' your blog, rather than just created my own...

I think I'll go play some ET. :-D
